Advanced authoring: the full studio tour

Once you can publish, the page is your workshop. Every page carries a deep set of tools: non-destructive adjustments, a full drawing studio, lettering, guided-reading panels, reusable overlays, and a safety net of version history and approvals. This tour covers all of it.

Read time about 8 min

1Shape each page

Upload art, then reorder pages by dragging. Each page has non-destructive adjustments, brightness, contrast, sharpen, resize, skew, reposition, and rotate, previewed live and baked in only when you publish. Scanned art also gets a gentle automatic scan-fix (straighten and clean) that you can toggle off per issue. Your original upload is always kept.

Want to draw or ink right here? Every page has a Draw button that opens the full drawing studio. That has its own tutorial, so this tour keeps moving.
Pro note
Adjustments are reversible forever, they never touch your original file. Experiment freely.

2Letter it and guide the eye

A page-detail Balloons tab letters right on the art: add speech, thought, caption, and SFX balloons, place them, and type. Set a lettering font for the series so it reads consistently. The Panels tab lets you draw an ordered outline around each panel in reading order, which powers the guided reader so readers can step through panel by panel.

Pro note
Panels are optional, but on phones the guided read works well. Mark them for your big action pages.

3Badges, history, and sign-off

Overlays are reusable badges (logos, credits, page numbers with @variables) you define in settings and apply on a page's Overlays tab; what you place is what ships to screen and print. Version history keeps every re-upload so you can restore an earlier take. And pages move through draft, review, approved, locked, while the issue itself runs planning to published, so a team can sign off before anything goes live.

Pro note
Overlays with an @page-number variable save you numbering every page by hand. Set it once at studio scope.

Quick questions

Always. Adjustments and lettering are non-destructive, your uploaded file is kept, and re-uploads are saved in Version history. Only a flattened copy ships to readers.

No. Panels are optional and only power the guided reader. The normal scrolling reader works without them, so add them where a page really benefits.

They let a team sign off: authors submit pages to review, directors approve or request changes and lock them. Working alone, you can approve your own and move on.

Yes. Re-upload pages and republish; leaving a short changelog note flags what's new for readers who already read it.

You know the whole workshop
