Browse and discover

Everything readers do starts at Browse. It's one discovery surface for everyone, signed in or not, and it rearranges itself around what you follow. Here's how to work it like a regular.

Read time about 6 min

1The featured carousel, then the rails

Browse opens with a full-bleed featured carousel of featured work, then Best sellers and Latest rails. Signed out, that's the catalogue. Signed in, you get the same Browse with a personalised Picked for you section leading it, work from the studios and groups you follow, with its own filter chips (releases, shorts, news, posts, rooms, AMAs, challenges) flowing straight into the same rails.

There's no separate "For You" page any more. It's all one surface, and an old feed link simply lands you back on Browse.
Pro note
Sign in and Browse starts learning. The more you follow, the more the top of the page feels like it was made for you.

2Lenses: ways to slice the shelf

Under the rails, Browse is built from lenses. Latest and New group fresh work by day. Free shows what costs nothing. Deals collects the discounted. Creators is the studio directory, and there's a News lens too. Signed in, you also get Following (a feed from studios and series you follow) and a New this week view. Crowdfunds surface here as well.

Issue cards carry an Owned or Free badge, so you can see at a glance what you can already read without clicking a thing.
Pro note
Skint? Start with the Free lens. There's a frankly unreasonable amount of good comics in there.

3Search that understands you

The header search box goes deep. A single query matches on title, genre, tags, and characters at once, so you can write it plainly, like horror comics with bears, and get somewhere. Results come back grouped by type (studios, series, issues, crowdfunds, blogs) in the same card layout as Browse, with the same Filters popover to narrow things down.

Pro note
Try searching for a character instead of a title. It's the fastest way to find the book you half remember.

4Make it yours

You can nudge what shows up. Hit Pin to feed on any studio or series page and their work rides higher for you. In Preferences you can choose which surface you land on when you open FoundryInk. And you can install FoundryInk to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience, it opens straight to Browse, and the Chill Player keeps playing as you move around.

Premium readers get a FoundryInk Premium badge on their personalised section.
Pro note
Installed, it behaves like a proper app. On iOS the account menu shows you the Share-menu steps.

5Your sidebar: jump back in

Down the left of Browse is a personalized nav of shortcuts back to your things. Your pins holds what you pinned, and Subscriptions and Following jump to the studios you support and follow. Two newer sections round it out. Communities lists the community rooms you have joined, so you can drop straight back into a conversation (its header opens the full community index). Games lists the games you have pinned or played, one click from picking up where you left off. And Trending at the bottom shows what is hot right now for everyone.

These sidebar sections are shortcuts to your own stuff, not catalog filters. Communities and Games here are the rooms and games you already have; to browse the whole catalog of games or find a new community, use the Play lens or the Community refine instead. A section only appears once you have something in it (a room you joined, a game you pinned).
Pro note
Pin a game you are mid-way through and it lands in the Games shortcut, so you never lose your place. The sidebar is your "continue" shelf; the lenses are for finding something new.

Quick questions

It's the same surface, but a personalised Picked for you section leads it, drawn from the studios and groups you follow, with filter chips for releases, shorts, news, posts, rooms, AMAs and challenges. You also gain the Following lens and a New this week view.

One query matches title, genre, tags and characters together, so plain phrasing like "horror comics with bears" works. Results group by studios, series, issues, crowdfunds and blogs, and the Browse Filters popover still applies.

Issue cards show an Owned badge if you have it, or a Free badge if it costs nothing. No clicking required.

Yes. Pin a studio or series to your feed from its public page, and set your default landing surface in Preferences.

You know your way around
